Welcome to our inbound exchange student Lisa Chauvet from France!

 

Member Umesh will do a presentation speaking on Arthritis and Preventive Measures. Be sure to attend this important session to gain some insight and tips for yourselves and family.

 

We will have more details in the coming days on the special Remembrance Day event November 4th at Rodd Charlottetown. 

 

Many thanks to Bob Moffat, PDG who led a wonderful anniversary event at Shaws. Members and Guests met in fellowship and the Club was presented with a letter from RI President Urchick congratulating the Club on 107 of service to the community and  internationally. 

 

That evening well deserved Paul Harris's were handed out to long time Member Moe Rodgerson who received his PH plus 6, an awesome achievement in his dedication to all things Rotary and to Marilyn Lowther for her many years of dedication to the Club and her work on the Donation Assessment Committee.

 

This past Monday we had a gala event at Rodd's to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Federation of Literacy Awards . Chaired by Kevin Lewis the first class program cast a shining light on Rotary's work locally to promote literacy. The Premier presented the 2024 Award to Mi'kmaq Confederacy of PEI. So well deserved!  Thank you Kevin for all your hard work on behalf of our Club. Some special guests included former Lt Gov Frank Lewis, father of Kevin and Reagan. We vey much appreciated seeing him at our event. 

 

This Month there have already been several events to mark World Polio Month under the leadership of Duncan Conrad, PDG. Firstly the Premier issued a Proclamation recognizing October 24, 2024 as World Polio Day in the Province of Prince Edward Island. Also, today the End Polio Flag was raised at City Hall by Mayor Phillip Brown to mark World Polio Day and the contributions all Island Rotary Clubs have made to this important initiative.
